Comfort Zone Visited

As defined in wikipedia; The comfort zone is a behavioural state within which a person operates in an anxiety-neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviours to deliver a steady level of performance, usually without a sense of risk.
While the optimal performance zone is a zone in which the performance of a person can be enhanced and in which their skills can be optimized. This zone is reached by increasing the levels of anxiety to reach more stress, resulting in enhanced levels of concentration and focus.

From the definitions above one can deduce;
- Leaving comfort zone implies risk taking. Taking risks is not that scary if they are calculated. Calculated risk is not 100% safe, it is still a risk, but it is not lunatic too.
- Comfort zone doesn't mean a happy zone. It is a zone that we are used to. We know everything about it, we got used to the pain within it.
- Leaving a comfort zone doesn't mean a dramatic change. In order to keep the person safe, the change need to be made little by little, because if the anxiety level was too high, it may cause undesirable results. I can think of depression now as an example.
- Leaving the comfort zone may require a leap of faith. It is when there are things that maybe vague, but still the one decides to take that step out of the zone.
- Comfort zone is about boundaries that the person creates to himself. Limits he believes he can't go beyond.
- Proofs are needed for the person to know he can break those limits.
- The proofs can come with trying. That will need a level of courage, a reason to decide to leave the zone. Maybe too much pain within to be kicked outside.
- Or maybe through an exercise when he doesn't know he's to break them or too afraid or resistant to give it a try.
- Another way is to "in-believe" in those boundaries, in their existence. Changing the whole perspective. Stuff like; I have no time, I can't do it, it is impossible!! These all are about perspective.
- The step that need to be taken could be too boring or silly for the person, and that can keep him stuck in the zone for years!
- Sometimes the person has no idea what is keeping him in that zone. I am one of those! I know this needs some exploration and a lot of work!

Comfort zone is my number one enemy. I never believed the is impossible or that I am too weak to do whatever I want to do. But, I have been stuck in that zone for years. The zone shaped changed, but I was still stuck. Each time I had to change perspective or take a leap of faith to leave it, the results were always awsome, but still I get stuck. A bad habit that the one need to be awake for all the time!

A man of knowledge (The four natural enemies)

Sunday, April 15, 1962 As I was getting ready to leave, I decided to ask him once more about the enemies of a man of knowledge. I argued that I could not return for some time, and it would be a good idea to write down what he had to say and then think about it while I was away. He hesitated for a while, but then he began to talk. "When a man starts to learn, he is never clear about his objectives. His purpose is faulty; his intent is vague. He hopes for rewards that will never materialize, for he knows nothing of the hardships of learning. "He slowly begins to learn - bit by bit at first, then in big chunks. And his thoughts soon clash. What he learns is never what he pictured, or imagined, and so he begins to be afraid. Learning is never what one expects. Every step of learning is a new task, and the fear the man is experiencing begins to mount mercilessly, unyieldingly. His purpose becomes a battlefield. "And thus he has stumbled upon the first of his natural...

I have to drop by each country of the nine, really feel it, breathe it, taste it! 7. Italy, this one will be a long trip, I believe I need to visit every single province there! 8. Bali, Indonesia 9. Living vs Waiting

Living: Living here is used as a generic word for “living the moment”. When someone is “living the moment” he feels alive, enjoying every moment, experiencing all the feelings and emotions he should in that special moment. He is totally present, feeling relaxed, and hopeful about his future. Waiting: As explained in Oxford dictionary; the action of staying where one is or delaying action until a particular time or event: ‘years of waiting’ On the contrary to “living the moment”, when someone is in a waiting state, he is probably wasting his time and emotions, not experiencing the feelings he should experience in his present moment. Not being there, not understanding. Worried and anxious about what to come that he doesn’t notice the beauty of his current moment. Waiting involves: intolerance, anxiety, anticipation. When someone is in a waiting state he starts to believe things have taken so long to happen. And this involves doubt that he is in charge of his own l...
"Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself. He threshes you to make you naked. He sifts you to free you from your husks. He grinds you to whiteness. He kneads you until you are pliant; And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God’s sacred feast."
